Something tells me this dude will be staying behind bars a tad longer.
Remember that idiot who thought it would be a smart idea to start swinging a bat around in front of a police station before being tackled? Well another idiot, an inmate named Kiondre Zachery, thought it would be smart to try and choke out a prison guard at Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa, Florida using a towel.
22-year-old Zachery can be seen on camera walk up behind 31-year-old prison guard Deputy D. Hernandez and wrap a towel around his neck in front of 72 other inmates. Check out the crazy video below.
Video Shows Inmate Trying To Strangle Prison Guard With Towel
Kudos to the other inmates who actually helped take down Zachery, proving that not everyone in prison is terrible.
Zachery was serving time behind bars for burglary, but now he’s also been charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer Smooth move.
Deputy Hernandez, who has only been a guard at this prison for ten months, walked away from the incident with abrasions to his neck, a twisted ankle and a bruised knee.
Here’s what the Hillsborough County sheriff’s office had to say about this incident.
Due to the overall professionalism and respect that detention deputies display towards the inmates on a daily basis, the inmates came to the deputy’s aid preventing the deputy from being seriously injured.
This incident highlights the extreme danger the men and women working at the Hillsborough County Department of Detention Services face everyday.
It also shows that because most inmates know that the deputies inside the pods are not adversaries and are treated fairly and with respect.
Oh, and Zachery has now been moved into isolation. Hope it was worth it, dude.
