Montreal is hosting the Osheaga music and arts festival again this year at Parc Jean-Drapeau, and it runs from August 4-6. Recently announcing their line-up, these are the top 7 musicians on Osheaga’s bill.
The Weeknd
Riding on his wave of continued success, his third album Starboy as well as the single by the same name have consistently been topping charts.
Muse
This English rock band has been around for more than two decades, winning two Grammys and releasing Drones in 2015.
Lorde
New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde hasn’t put out any recent albums, keeping under the radar, which is why her appearance at Osheaga is so exciting.
Major Lazer
Electronic music trio Major Lazer released the third single from their upcoming album Music is the Weapon this year – the full album should be out before their performance at Osheaga.
Alabama Shakes
This Alabama-grown award-winning band was recently nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Performance “Joe” (Live from Austin City Limits).
Solange
Sister of the infamous Beyonce, Solange is making a name for herself in the music world – she put out her third studio album last September called A Seat at the Table.
Vance Joy
Climbing the ranks, UK singer/songwriter Vance Joy won Best Male Artist at the ARIA Music Awards back in 2015 for his one and only album, Dream Your Life Away.
