Get your head in the game, lady!

We here at Mandatory like to teach you life lessons. Need some examples? Well, this is why you shouldn’t slide down an escalator rail to impress a girl. And this is why you shouldn’t block a car’s exhaust pipe. You know, typical things you should know for living a productive life. Oh, and now it’s time to show you all why you shouldn’t stop dribbling a ball in the middle of the game to tie your shoe.

The Northwestern women’s basketball team was going up against Rutgers last night in a game that Northwestern won easily 60 to 38. But no one cares about that, and the only reason anyone is talking about it is because of the boneheaded move that Northwestern guard Ashley Deary pulled.

While bringing the ball up the court, Deary actually took a knee in order to tie her shoe before reaching half court. Well guess what? This is why you shouldn’t do that.

I mean, come on, Deary. That has to be the most humiliating thing that’s happened in Deary’s career. Then again, maybe it will teach her to invest in some velcro sneakers next time around.
