Ocean Park Standoff may sound like a fake news event that Kellyanne Conway might refer to (a la the Bowling Green Massacre), but in reality they’re an alt-pop trio (Samantha Ronson, Ethan Thompson and Pete Nappi) who will be making headlines for all the right reasons at this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW).

Crave is exclusively premiering the Los Angeles-based, indie band’s Open Air Sessions video for their single “Photos & Liquor”.
You can hear why Ocean Park Standoff (OPS) are the real deal from this intimate live performance. Set somewhere in the Hollywood Hills, against a cloudy downtown LA skyline, the hazy single catches your ear with hypnotic guitar strums before reeling you in with the blue-eyed soul yearning of Thompson, who can pull off romanticism without sounding melodramatic.
Here’s what Ocean Park Standoff had to say about “Photos & Liquor”, “Once we were assured that we could cut filming if the rain got too heavy, for the sake of our instruments, we were pretty happy that the weather was appropriately gloomy. “Photos and Liquor”, to us, is as much a vibe as it is a song. It would have felt strange to film that song against a perfect “Hollywood” backdrop. We’re pretty sure Ethan owes his first born to the weather gods, but hey, it was worth it.”
