It was just two weeks ago that Syd dropped “All About Me,” the first single and video from her forthcoming solo debut album Fin. It’s a slow-burn track whose very Cali lyrics shout out dead homies, delicately sketch in symptoms of and self-medicating remedies for depression, and struggles with being faithful to one woman. It’s as delicate as a wisp of smoke riding a bed of hard beats. Now, just as the Internet announce a national tour in which each member will perform a brief solo set, Syd drops her second single in which she’s in pure macking mode, with both her vocals and the track itself being the definition of sultry – and more than a little reminiscent of Aaliyah at her best.
