Johnny Manziel Will Charge For Autographs Before Super Bowl LI

If you’ve ever wanted a sure-bet on meeting Johnny Manziel your chance is here. You’ll just have to show him the money.

The former Browns quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner will be making two appearances at Houston-area malls leading up to Super Bowl LI to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. He’s only asking for $99 for his John Hancock (an extra $29 for an extra four-word inscription) and $50 for a selfie.

The Crave Sports Company (no relation with us) is billing the appearances at two Stadium Signature stores, according to Cleveland.com.

Manziel will appear at Katy Mills Mall on Feb. 2 and Woodlands Mall on Feb. 3 from 7-8 p.m.

“There’s been a lot of interest,” said Jessie Cervantes, who helps run the Katy Mills store. “I had a guy say he’s coming all the way from Georgia just to get his picture taken with Johnny.”

Cervantes said the phones haven’t stopped ringing since the appearance was announced.

I don’t see why anyone would want to give their hard-earned cash to a man who’s been suspended by the NFL, has been in and out of rehab, and charged with domestic assault. But who am I to say what you do with your money?

If you’re going to pay up for an autograph, at least hit up the next Pete Rose appearance. At least he’s someone who actually had a professional career and should be in the Hall of Fame, not the hall of shame.

Manziel hasn’t been in the NFL since March of last year. He had eight career NFL starts, registering one of the lowest QBRs in history. He’s a reality star at this point, if that’s anything.
