After an impossibly long time away from the stage and airwaves (at least in modern pop terms,) xx stepped back into view last November with “On Hold,” the first single from their forthcoming album I See You, which drops in less than two weeks. Second single “Say Something Loving,” both plaintive and immediately absorbing, has Romy and Oliver trading aching vocals against a track that’s sleekly windswept in sound and feel while also being the perfect aural setting for the emotive vocal performances. The new track is below, followed by their SNL performance of “On Hold.”
