‘Tis the season for giving. If you’re John and Angel Whorton of Akron, it’s also the season for winning, and receiving those winnings from the biggest superstar on the planet.
The Whortons won $1.3 million recently on a new NBC game show produced by LeBron James. So what’s the baller do? He decided to head down the street (LeBron is also from Akron where the couple lives) and deliver the winnings himself.
The video has more than a million views in less than five hours.
Of course this was just a publicity stunt to get the show some virility. No way can this family keep $1.3 million inside their house, especially when the entire planet knows about it within a matter of hours. But hell, was this a great video for the surprise alone. Kudos.
We’re still on Christmas Adam (you know, the day before Christmas Eve) and we’ve seen Ezekiel Elliott and LeBron give epic surprises. We can’t wait to see what’s yet to come this holiday season.
The Wall premieres Jan. 2 on NBC at 10 p.m. ET. The show is reportedly a combination of Plinko from The Price Is Right and “other game show elements.”
