The 32nd class of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced today and the list actually includes artists whom people actually still listen to.

Pearl Jam and Tupac (despite dying 20 years ago) still make headlines today as they did during their heyday in the ‘90s. Both were nominated in their first year of eligibility, while stalwart protest singer Joan Baez was inducted after being nominated for the first time.

This year’s class, which also includes dad band’s Journey, Yes, and Electric Light Orchestra, will be honored in an April 7th ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and broadcast on HBO and Sirius XM.

Producer and songwriter Nile Rodgers, who missed out on a nomination for his band Chic, will receive the Award for Musical Excellence for producing massive hits by the likes of David Bowie, Madonna and Daft Punk.

Among the nominees who will have to wait until next year are Depeche Mode, Janet Jackson, Bad Brains, Kraftwerk, Jane’s Addiction and the Cars.
