100,000 + Colombian Fans Come Out To Support Chapecoense After Plane Crash

It’s only been a day since we learned nearly an entire team of soccer players perished in a plane crash in Columbia. Now it appears an entire nation has united to pay tribute and to support those tied to the tragedy.

Brazilian soccer club Chapecoense was supposed to play in the Copa Sudamericana final Wednesday night in Medellin. Although the game was obviously cancelled, it didn’t stop from countless fans showing up to the stadium.

Reports say at least 100,000 Atletico Nacional fans showed up to their stadium to pay tribute to the victims of the plane crash. After seeing the pics and video, I believe that number to easily be accurate.

And just a few of the powerful images from Wednesday evening.

Nearly a dozen soccer clubs are reaching out to help Chapecoense stay afloat until they can rebuild their team.

The cause of the crash is to believed to have been because of lack of fuel.
