Dave Chappelle wasn’t the only iconic performer to make his Saturday Night Live! debut this weekend. A Tribe Called Quest were the musical guests on last night’s SNL and proved worth the wait, performing two tracks from their recently released final album, We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service.

After a rousing introduction by Chappelle, Q-Tip and Jarobi White came out swinging with “We the People,” a timely song targeting xenophobia, racism and homophobia in the era of President Trump.
Backed by DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad, the two MC’s waged lyrical war before unfurling a banner of Phife Dawg as a recording of the late, great rapper’s verse played.
Longtime honorary Tribesman Consequence and Busta Rhymes joined Q-Tip and Jarobi for the second song, “The Space Program,” another standout track on the legendary hip hop act’s first album in 18 years. See both performances below.
