Cubs Clinch First Pennant Since 1945! The Best Reactions …

1908 … 1945 … 2016?

The Chicago Cubs routed Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0 Saturday night to clinch the team’s first pennant since the end of WW II. Their last World Series title? Four years before the sinking of the Titanic.

No question the Cubs’ win Saturday was of Titanic proportions for not just the Cubs, but the entire city of Chicago and for their fans across the country as well.

This is what happens when you clinch your first World Series in 71 years.

And this … a terrific POV of the last out from the stands. “WE’RE GOING TO THE *&^%$^& WORLD SERIES!”

And then this …

And when the marquee flips to read “2016 National League Champions,” you get this …

Meanwhile, this is happening in the locker room…

There was even a celebratory man-kini twerk???

And if you were trying to drive out of Wrigleyville hours following the last out, you got this …

Meanwhile, Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber, who is still rehabbing from a broken leg in the Arizona Fall League, got sprayed down by his temporary teammates …

Bill Murray appeared to be crying in the stands.

Hillary Clinton’s jaw hit the airplane floor …

Kyle Hendricks, who held the Dodgers to two hits the entire game, evidently murdered the billy goat …

There were countless living rooms across the country that resembled this …

And Twitter had to pinch themselves…

Finally, Dorothy probably sums it up best regarding what this Cubs’ pennant means …

God bless her and the countless others her age who have been waiting for this Series for decades.

The Cubs’ 71-year World Series drought is the longest dry-spell for any team among America’s four major sports. What’s also crazy is that the Cubs will face the Cleveland Indians, who haven’t won a World Series since 1948.

First pitch is Tuesday night in Cleveland.
