FX’s ‘Legion’ Unleashes His Powers In New Preview

If everything you know about the X-Men comes from the live-action movies, then chances are good that you’ve never heard of David Heller. In the Marvel Universe, Heller was known as “Legion,” because of his multiple personalities, each of which were empowered with their very own unique mutant power. Collectively, Heller was the most powerful mutant alive…and he just happened to be the son of X-Men found, Professor Charles Xavier.

It’s unclear if Heller will retain that family tie to Professor X in FX’s Legion series, but he will retain his power…and his insanity. FX has released a new teaser trailer for Legion which features a taste of the destructive potential that Heller has inside of him. This is just scratching the surface of what he can do, and if Heller is anything like his comic book counterpart, it’s the multiple personalities that will make him dangerous. Let’s just say that not all of them are benevolent.

As part of that promo video, FX revealed that Legion will premiere in February 2017, but a specific date hasn’t been set yet. The adaptation was executive produced and written by Noah Hawley, who is also behind FX’s take on Fargo. In fact, two actresses from Fargo season 2,  Rachel Keller and Jean Smart will star in the series alongside Parks and Recreation‘s Aubrey Plaza. Dan Stevens is playing David Heller/Legion, and he looks to be well suited for the role.
