Before Black Sails returns to Starz next year for its fourth and final season, fans of the epic pirate series will get a chance to catch up on the third season via Blu-ray and DVD next month!
Anchor Bay is releasing Black Sails: The Complete Third Season, which features every episode year 3, as well as some additional features. One of those features is a spotlight on “The Storm,” one of the most harrowing events of the third season. In this exclusive clip, cast members Toby Stephens & Tom Hopper, director Lukas Ettlin, co-creators Jonathan E. Steinberg & Robert Levine, and stunt coordinator Franz Spilhaus reveal some of the factors that went into filming that scene. Despite what you may expect, some practical effects and a tilting deck were used to create the illusion of the storm. And the perils of each character were carefully chosen by the show’s creative team.
