Rockstar Reignite ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Hype With Mysterious Tweet

Chatter surrounding a follow-up to Rockstar Games’ hugely successful free-roam offering Red Dead Redemption is now at an all time high, following the cheekiest of tweets from the game developer.

While nothing is confirmed, the minimal red image the company has posted (below) has well, pretty much basically confirmed an impending announcement of the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2.

To the uninitiated, the image would appear to be a nondescript, faded logo on a red background. But to those familiar with the franchise, it’s a tip of the hate from Rockstar that an announcement regarding the heavily rumoured follow-up is impending.

Red Dead Redemption dropped back in 2010 and saw the open-world philosophy applied to the setting of 19th Century wild, wild west. Needless to say, it was a raging success among even the most purist of gamers.

Redemption was actually the second game in the series, the first being Red Dead Revolver, so for damn near a decade, fans have been crying for a third instalment of the definitive cowboy shoot-em-up experience.

Even though we might all get the same warm and fuzzy feeling from Rockstar’s Twitter tease, there’s every likelihood they could announce something completely unrelated. Perhaps it’s more info regarding talk of a HD re-release of Redemption, which would be cool. It’ll sting. But it’ll be cool.
