Liv is the latest “supergroup” to hit the streaming airwaves. The all-star Swedish cast is fronted by Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt, who is actually American, but is the vocalist of Swedish electronic pop band Miike Snow.

The group, which also includes Li’s longtime collaborator Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John, Wyatt’s Miike Snow bandmate Pontus Winnberg, and acclaimed producer Jeff Bhasker (who has worked with Kanye West and Mark Ronson), released their first song and kinda NSFW music video, “Wings of Love.”
The lush, layered single has a folk-pop-hippie sound and look (nudist camp!!!) that ironically conjures up memories of the Laurel Canyon Sixties music scene as Wyatt and Li harmonize over strumming acoustic strings and a head-swaying drum loop.
It’s not the first collaboration between Li and Wyatt who sang together on a stirring cover of Kings of Leon’s “Knocked Up” a few years back, nor will it be the last according to Li in a recent interview with Pitchfork, which she said that there was more Liv (translates to “life” in Swedish) music coming, including a tour, despite being pregnant with Bhasker’s child.
