No seriously, he did that.
According to NBC News, a suspected car thief led police on a nearly two-hour long chase Wednesday afternoon, one that ended when he decided to take them off-road through sand dunes and eventually…wait for it…into the ocean.
The SUV eventually began to sink, which probably had something to do with the fact that he drove it into the ocean, and he was forced to jump onto the roof of it. Several Yancep police officers then made their way into the water. The perp lost his grip when a wave broke, and the officers were able to seize the opportunity and bring him to shore.
