Epic Tour de France Crash Is The Best We’ve Ever Seen

Surprisingly, the crash was not a result of a cyclist blowing through a stop sign.

According to the Daily Mail, more than 20 bikers in the Tour de France, including Yellow Jersey wearer Fabian Cancellara, were involved in an epic high-speed crash this afternoon that brought the Super Bowl of cycling to a halt for more than 10 minutes.

Four riders involved in the crash weren’t able to finish the remaining 50 kilometers of Stage Three, but Cancellara wasn’t one of them, as he managed to make it across the finish line despite flipping over his handlebars while traveling at approximately 80 kmh and…wait for it…breaking his L3 and L4 vertebrae.

The broken vertebrae mean Cancellara’s Tour de France is over, and that’s bad news for him and his fans. But the good news is that people are paying attention to cycling again, even if it’s just for one day.

Hey, it could have been much worse. I mean, this could have happened for real: This ‘Nuts In A Bike Prank’ Is Painfully Hilarious (NSFW Language)
