Here’s a video you have to see to believe. Well, unless you are Michael Quin.
That’s because Quin is a blind man who won free McDonald’s for a year after he somehow drained a three-pointer this weekend during a halftime promotion at a College of the Ozarks basketball game:
According to KSPR 33 in Springfield, Missouri, Quin had a series of falls several years ago that eventually left him blind along with a severely lessened mental capacity. He teamed up with a program called Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, a group that works “individuals with all types of developmental disabilities.”
That is where Quin learned how to shoot a basketball relying solely on the sound of somebody’s voice who is strategically placed beneath the basket.
Fast forward to the College of the Ozarks basketball game on Saturday, where Michael had a chance to win free McDonald’s Extra Value Meals for a year if he could hit a three-point shot in front of a crowd of almost 400 people.
Thank Christ, Quin was able to hit that shot when it mattered most or else we would have been writing a story today on the cruelest promotion of all time.
