ReCore’s Slow Loading Screens Can Last For 3 Minutes

ReCore is releasing this week on the Xbox One and PC and, while the game is pretty fun considering the suspicious lack of marketing surrounding its muted launch, it does have a few notable problems, chief among these being its lengthy loading screens.

I’ve yet to sit through a loading screen in ReCore that has lasted under 30 seconds, with most having clocked in at over a minute. Even the screen before the game’s intro clocked in at around 2 minutes, with some lasting for as long as 3 minutes. You’ll be met with these loading screens every time you die, so if you decide to play the game on a harder difficulty setting, prepare to be forced to sit and twiddle your thumbs for a significant portion of your play session.

Even the game’s day one patch has been unable to rectify the issue, with Microsoft Studios releasing a statement to VG247, saying: “We are aware that even with the Day One patch, players can still experience long load times in a couple areas of the game. We appreciate player feedback and are committed to improving where we can.”

Microsoft could issue another patch to coincide with the game’s launch tomorrow (September 13), but for the time being it seems that they are struggling to fix this particular issue. Hopefully the problem is ironed out sooner rather than later, and ReCore players can sink their teeth into the game without having to wait the length of a bathroom break every time they die.
