Last year, Mike Colter made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Luke Cage during the first season of Jessica Jones. Next month, Colter’s title character is getting his own series on Netflix, and it’s gonna be time for Luke Cage to dish out his own brand of justice!
Netflix has released a new preview clip from Luke Cage that may be familiar to anyone who saw the teaser trailer at the end of Daredevil season 2. This is the extended version of that scene, as Cage visits some very bad men and he’s slightly disappointed that they haven’t really heard of them. But only because all of the bullet holes in his clothes mean that he’ll have to buy a new outfit. You see, Cage has indestructible skin and super strength, which makes him extremely difficult to stop.

Don’t expect Cage to sail through all 13 episodes of the first season unscathed. As Misty Knight (Simone Missick) said in the recently released trailer, he may be bulletproof, but the people of Harlem aren’t. He’s also got multiple adversaries gunning for him, including a local politician named Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard), her cousin, the crime boss Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali), and Shades Alvarez (Theo Rossi), Cage’s former friend turned deadly rival. Rosario Dawson will also recur on the series as Claire Temple, a role she originated on Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
Luke Cage season 1 will drop on Friday, September 30 on Netflix.
