Fans have been frothing over the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story since it was released last week, giving us our first glimpse at the first of three Star Wars spin-offs that take place in George Lucas’ cinematic universe.
Now, a slightly longer international trailer for Rogue One has surface online, with some new footage and the reveal of a crucial plot point.
The trailer (below) reveals that Mads Mikkelsen’s character Galen Erso is in fact the one who leaks the information to the Rebels that Darth Vader and the Empire are indeed building a giant war machine (the Death Star).
What we don’t know for sure is how he has gained this information – whether he has spent time working as a prisoner for The Empire or whether he’s simply a free traitor. Regardless, it’s a pretty huge reveal so early before the movie is released, but it will certainly stir up plenty of speculation and fan theories before Rogue One is released this December.
