Over 25 years there hasn’t been a lot that Lollapalooza-goers haven’t seen and done, but what Samsung did this past weekend was ground-breaking. Samsung introduced VR-Palooza, where fans could live stream shows and participate in brand new 360-degree VR experiences (Halsey up-close-and-personal, yes please), including 4D VR surfing, skateboarding and hot air balloon. Fans also flocked to The Galaxy Lounge, where Galaxy owners had the opportunity to gain VIP access for a Snapchat-worthy view of the Samsung Stage, featuring some of the festival’s hottest headliners (G-Eazy, Flume, and Radiohead). In a weekend of celebrating Lollapalooza’s past, all this breaking tech was a nice way to look at what’s in store for the festival’s future.
