Someone has been watching the vigilantes in Gotham City, but even Batman doesn’t know who or what the “Colony” represents. In an attempt to prepare Gotham’s heroes of the future, the Dark Knight Detective has assembled a new team of Red Robin, Spoiler, Orphan, and Clayface(?!) alongside Batwoman, as their reluctant trainer.
It’s not enough. And in the war against the Colony, Batman has been the first to fall!
In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview of Detective Comics # 937, Batman finds himself in a very unfamiliar position as the Colony discects his utility belt. Anyone who thought that Batman threw his fight with the Colony’s soldiers should probably reevaluate that, since our hero seems legitimately confused about his whereabouts. We assumed that the “Rise of the Batmen” storyline was named after Batman’s new team, but the last page of this preview calls that idea into question!
Writer James Tynion IV is joined on this issue with artist Alvaro Martinez and inker Raul Fernandez. Here’s DC’s solicitation text for Detective Comics # 937:
“’Rise of the Batmen’ Chapter Four: In issue #937, Batman’s found his way into the heart of the Colony, the mysterious new organization cutting its way through Gotham City! Unfortunately, now that he’s in he may find there’s no way out!”
Detective Comics # 937 will be released on Wednesday, July 27 in comic book stores everywhere.
