Comic-Con 2016 | Felicia Day Talks MST3K’s Mysteries

There’s a new Dr. Forrester at the Gizmonic Institute, and her name is Felicia Day.

Well, actually her name is “Kinga Forrester,” but she’s being played by Felicia Day in the upcoming revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (a.k.a. MST3K). The multi-talented Felicia Day has starred in hit series before (The GuildDr. Horrible) and as the producer of the mega-popular YouTube Channel Geek & Sundry.

But this will be the first time audiences will get to see the darker side of Felicia Day, as she teams up with sidekick TV’s Son of TV’s Frank (played by Patton Oswalt) to send terrible movies to the crew of the Satellite of Love for fiendish riffing purposes. And it’s a development she is very excited about.

We talked to Felicia Day at Comic-Con 2016 to learn more about her evil character, what it’s like to write episodes of MST3K, and whether we’ll ever get to see her in the theater. We also asked the most important question of the new series (in our heads anyway): If Kinga Forrester is Dr. Forrester’s daughter… who is her mother?

“That will have to be revealed, actually. I don’t know if I know it right now but I will when we film,” Felicia Day responded. “Probably I’ll know that.”

Find out more about the upcoming Netflix series, and which films she hopes they get to riff on throughout the series, in this exclusive Crave interview!
