Bubba Watson Has The First ‘Flying Golf Cart Jetpack’

Masters champion Bubba Watson, Oakley, and Martin Aircraft Company have partnered to develop the first “flying golf cart jetpack.” But in reality, it’s a solo flight commuter straight out of the Jetsons.

While Watson and his team promote it as the next great thing for golf, here are a few of the BW-Air stats:

  • It has a 210 horsepower engine
  • It can fly up to 3,000 feet
  • Can fly at 46 mph

Oakley’s description:

Finally, golfers can see the course and their game like never before with a unique bird’s eye view of every hole as well as the freedom to fly easily from location to location in any environment without restriction. It’s almost an unfair advantage …

… It also has all the features of a typical golf cart, including space for clubs, sand bottle holders and everything else you need for a great round.

The downside — can you imagine if two of these collided in mid-air? And with the average golfer age being 107, even if some have the cognitive ability and certification to drive one of these things, it’s likely your suburban golf course would quickly turn into the county demolition derby.

But is it cool as hell? No doubt.
