The first season of SundanceTV’s Cleverman is coming to a close, and the walls are closing in on Koen! As the titular “Cleverman,” Koen has been granted magical powers that are the envy of his half-brother, Waruu. And both brothers have been thrust into the ongoing battle between humanity and the Hairy People, a separate humanoid species who are collectively repressed.
In last week’s episode, Waruu told Koen that it was his duty to find a murderous creature known as the Namorrodor, which is responsible for a number of recent murders. But Koen faced a more personal loss when he witnessed the death of his friend Ash in their bar, and his powers were insufficient to save her.
CraveOnline has an exclusive clip from tonight’s episode, which finds Koen attempting to pass on his gift to Waruu in a bid to avoid his own death. But it won’t be that easy to escape the Cleverman, and even Waruu knows that he can’t get what he wants from Koen that way. With his life on the line, Koen only sees one way out. But how many more will suffer before he embraces his destiny?
Here’s the description of tonight’s episode from SundanceTV:
“In the penultimate episode, ‘A Man of Vision,’ Charlotte agrees to one last attempt at IVF at a clinic offering new technology. Slade makes Waruu a dangerous offer he struggles to refuse.”
The fifth episode of Cleverman will air at 10pm PST/EST, tonight on SundanceTV.

Boondee (Tony Briggs) and Djukara (Tysan Towney)
