Earlier this month, DreamWorks Animation rebooted Voltron with the new Netflix original series, Voltron: Legendary Defender. And new fans won’t have to wait long to see the new show come to comics!
Lion Forge Comics has recruited Voltron: Legendary Defender writers Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson to team up with the show’s development studio, Digital Art Chefs for a new limited series that explores a previously untold adventure that places Coran’s life in jeopardy because of an old debt. To save their friend and ally, the Voltron team will be pushed to their limits!
In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for the first issue, Coran suggests a few training sites before taking the team to his favorite backwater bar in a distant corner of the universe. But just because Coran spent the last 10,000 years in hibernation doesn’t mean that he’s been forgotten by someone dangerous…

“From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe comes VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER! When Team Voltron takes on a dangerous training mission in deep space, Coran, Princess Allura’s majordomo, is captured by an ancient enemy. It will taketeamwork, smarts, and, of course, Voltron, to save their friend’s life. This galaxyspanning adventure is a neverbeforeseen chapter of the epic animated series reboot by show writers Tim Hedrick (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Mitch Iverson.”
Voltron: Legendary Defender # 1 will be released in digital and in print on Wednesday, July 13.
