Are you familiar with DC Comics’ “Suicide Squad”? If you’re not, then you aren’t alone. Here’s a little bit of a rundown:
They’re essentially a team of incarcerated super villains that take part in black-ops missions as deniable government assets in exchange for shortened prison terms.
It’s an interesting take on the whole “superhero” film category that’s been all the rage the last decade or so; this “antihero” representation we’ll see in Suicide Squad should be an intriguing addition to the “comic book film adaptation” catalog.
Anyway, it seems the new Batman v Superman film has kicked someone or something into overdrive there at Warner Bros, because their collaboration with DC Comics will indeed be birthing a Suicide Squad movie. There is no information on a release date, not to mention that there’s no real information on production dates either, so don’t get your hopes up until, let’s say, about 2017 or so.
