Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae released her third studio album, “So Close to What,” and it has already become a hit among fans. Critics rolled in with their reviews and Billboard ranked the album’s songs in order all while the 21-year-old artist has been busy celebrating her new album with her fans. Ahead of the album’s launch, McRae took to Kia Forum on Thursday, setting the stage ablaze in a viral dance video.

The Kia Forum posted a teaser video on Instagram, building excitement for Tate McRae’s upcoming album. As such, fans gathered at the venue in Inglewood, California, to watch McRae perform on Thursday. The singer used the event to celebrate the release of her new album, “So Close to What”. It was a jaw-dropping dance performance. She set the stage on fire with a sensuous yet powerful routine. As she performed her 2024 single, “2 Hands”, she captivated the audience with her energy and vocals.

The singer’s energetic moves while she seamlessly sang the vocals proved her strength as a performer. Moreover, her caliber as an artist shone through as she kept the audience engaged with her performance. In doing so, the young star set the clock back to her “So You Think You Can Dance” days in 2016 when she was the first Canadian finalist on the American reality show. 

In 2024, McRae released three singles from “So Close to What”. She made her way through the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The lead single, “It’s OK I’m OK”, charted at number 20 on Billboard Hot 100. It also secured the 14th spot on the UK Singles Chart. After gaining prominence with her 2023 hit Greedy, she felt motivated to record her third album. She worked on the album while traveling during the “Think Later” world tour in 2024.

Besides releasing the album, McRae took to Instagram to announce three new shows she added to the “Miss Possessive” tour. The tour marks the singer’s fifth concert tour and her first arena tour and will begin on March 18 in Mexico City, Mexico.
