“The Kardashians” returned with their household affairs on-screen in the show’s third episode on Thursday. While the segment featured special moments with Kendall, Kylie, and Khloé, Kim and Kanye’s reunion for North’s on-stage performance stole hearts. The episode’s title “I Just Want to Be King,” reflected North’s performance for Disney’s Hollywood Bowl Live concert in May.
Confessing to the camera, Kim Kardashian said, “Kanye and I want the best for the kids,” as the episode showed Kanye arriving to meet North before her performance. The mother further revealed that the singer had suggested modifying the graphics for the show, to which she replied, “Of course, of course.” In praise of her ex’s suggestion, Kim directed the crew, “It will be a better production if you take his notes.”
Kim and Kanye held North’s hand as the crew led them to a prayer before her performance. The 11-year-old star performed the song before a huge audience while her mother admired her confidence. She said it was “such a proud moment as a mom to see your child have so much fun and not be nervous at all.” Moreover, she cried happy tears as she embraced the emotional moment.
Backstage, the star exes met with North as she squealed upon seeing them. Expressing her motherly affection, Kim said, “She’s so proud of herself. She did such a great job.” The proud mother added “She [North] is not there to be, you know, Mariah Carey,” as she clapped back at the haters.
Furthermore, the focus shifted to Kanye appreciating his daughter, saying “Man, she did so good” while walking with Kim and Saint. As they reunited for their kids, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West proved they were like any other parents before they were anything else.
