Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings donates $100K to organizations working toward LA fire relief
As LA begins to “rebuild” its communities, Chrissy Teigen and her culinary brand Cravings donated $100K to organizations working toward fire relief efforts. Teigen and Cravings wrote in the note that they are “heartbroken” by the damage and destruction these recent wildfires in California left behind. They also sent their thoughts to the victims “who’ve lost homes” and others actively working on the ground to contain these flames or volunteering to provide necessary help to the people.
Cravings, claiming to be an “LA-born and bred” brand, stated that food is central to their label and that it signifies “family, and family means home.” It then declared its desire “to show up for our LA community in a way that reflects those values” before revealing the $100K donation to organizations across the city.
The post listed the organizations, such as the World Central Kitchen, the YMCA, the LA Regional Food Bank, and the Red Cross, which will use the funds to fulfill “much needed supplies and most importantly – food.” These contributions, the brand assured, will help “people begin to recover and rebuild.” With that, it announced its commitment “to being part of the long-term effort to help rebuild” their beloved communities.
Besides making the LA fire relief fund donation, Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings thanked first responders, organizations, and volunteers. It further acknowledged their hard work assisting “day and night to serve our community” and extended a helping hand, noting, “We’re with you.”
According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the fires in LA burned over 40,000 acres. These flames first sparked on January 7, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate, burning countless homes and neighborhoods, and continue to burn even now.
