Eva Longoria is actively doing her part to offer support amid the LA wildfires as she visited Pasadena with supplies. The city has begun rebuilding while firefighters continue to make progress in containing the multiple deadly blazes, which burned several structures and homes across Southern California. Besides making notable donations for relief efforts, Longoria also stepped forward to deliver supplies to Pasadena during the challenging times.
Eva Longoria brings supplies to Pasadena
KTLA 5 News reported Eva Longoria was spotted in Pasadena bringing supplies following the major destruction from the LA wildfires. The 49-year-old businesswoman shared during the on-ground interview that they “packed some boxes” with the charity organization Global Empowerment Mission at a warehouse. Longoria noted they were bringing the supplies to the day laborers and called them the “second responders” amid the crisis.
Longoria explained, “They’re gonna be the ones cleaning up. They’re gonna be the ones that come in after the fires are contained, and to rebuild these communities.” The actor revealed they had a truck arriving with PPE, masks, gloves, and boots. Longoria further expressed appreciation for the communities that are out there “doing beautiful work.”
The star also said, “Everybody is suffering in California and Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena.” She continued, “Everywhere there was a fire, and so we just wanted to be here.” Longoria added, “Just being here and seeing the community come together is such a beautiful thing.” The film producer’s visit to Pasadena came after her foundation pledged $1 million to relief efforts for the communities affected by the wildfires.
Longoria revealed she is donating with support from funds from her Courage & Civility Award during a new segment of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends.” Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are the presenters of the reward. Meanwhile, the actor’s foundation announced they partnered with the Latino Community Foundation and the California Community Foundation to support the communities.
