Here’s How Jennifer Garner Is Helping LA Kids Overcome After Effects of LA Blaze

As families and communities in Los Angeles deal with the after-effects of the firesJennifer Garner ensured she played her part in the relief efforts. Garner, who has remained a longtime trustee of Save the Children, recently visited the organization’s partner Project:Camp to help with the work being done to support children impacted by the devastating wildfires in LA.

In a social media post, Save the Children announced Garner’s visit to one of the Project:Camp pop-up childcare centers. The slideshow comprised photos of her interacting and overseeing the work done at these camps after the LA fires to assist vulnerable kids.

Jennifer Garner believes playing with kids will work as ‘therapy’ for them

Joining the LA fire relief efforts, Jennifer Garner, a Pacific Palisades resident, opened up to the TODAY Show while visiting a pop-up childcare center. Partnering with Save the Children, which collaborated with Project:Camp, Garner told the news channel’s Jacob Soboroff about her beliefs that playing is “therapy” for kids. She believes “what they’re doing right here” at the camp is therapy for the kids, who are currently witnessing the aftermath of the wildfires. “This is exactly what they need,” she emphasized.

Garner, who got emotional during the conversation, continued, “Give children a little bit of normalcy if that’s at all possible.” She then stated that families in LA, especially parents impacted by the wildfires, need “the space to figure certain life decisions” which include, “where they’re gonna live” and “where their kids are going to school.”

The actor then explained that she is “heartbroken” for her city as one of the reasons for doing this. Nevertheless, she added how a part of her “feels like I have seen this before happen all over the country” and highlighted the “good” and “resilience” that shows up in such dire times.

In her efforts, Jennifer Garner continues to assist these childcare centers that “offer more than just a place to be” for victims of the LA fires. Save the Children called these pop-up camps “a lifeline for families navigating the unimaginable” as they support communities “hit hardest” and make children “feel safe” and “protected.”
