Priyanka Chopra Shares Heartbreaking Images of LA Fire Ruins on Instagram

Priyanka Chopra shared heartbreaking images of ruins in Los Angeles on Instagram, grieving for the families and communities ravaged by the fires. In a new post, Chopra penned a moving note, claiming that her “heart is heavy” witnessing the tragedy unfold in the city. The after photos depicted the apocalypse-like situation as multiple wildfires burned thousands of structures, including homes and businesses, to a crisp. The stills also exhibited smoke-filled skies as first responders and firefighters battled at least five fires burning across various counties in California.

In her moving Instagram note, Priyanka Chopra addressed the victims of the LA fires, as well as the residents and first responders. She declared her love for the city, which is currently suffering from some of the deadliest wildfires in its history. The actor wrote, “My heart is so heavy.” 

Chopra immediately expressed gratitude for her “family’s safety” while extending prayers to “so many of our friends, colleagues, and fellow Angelenos” who lost their homes and communities in the blaze. She then highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting how these wildfires have “displaced countless families and devastated entire communities.” The actor then described the aftermath of the disaster, adding that it has left “an overwhelming need for rebuilding and support.”

The Bollywood celebrity then sent a message to those actively working to contain the blaze and joining the relief efforts to aid thousands. “To the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers risking everything—you are true heroes,” she wrote. In addition, Chopra urged people to participate in the efforts to rebuild the communities and “consider donating.” She mentioned coming “across countless GoFundMe pages and organizations working tirelessly to provide relief.”

Lastly, Priyanka Chopra listed some organizations while saluting the work of many others “making a difference on the ground” amid the LA fires. The list mentioned Baby2Baby, the California Fire Foundation, and the American Red Cross. Later, in a final statement, Chopra pointed out that “every contribution, no matter the size, truly helps.”

According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the fires have burned over 40,000 acres after erupting on January 7. As people come together to help recover and rebuild, firefighters continue to fight the flames with the Palisades fire — one of the deadliest blazes — seeing 21% containment.
