Mel Gibson Mocks Gavin Newsom Amid LA Fire: ‘Our Tax Dollars Went to His Hair Gel’

Mel Gibson mocked California Governor Gavin Newsom in the latest episode of Joe Rogan‘s podcast amid devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. In Thursday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Gibson and Rogan called out the state government’s prevention of wildfires. They also criticized Newsom for not being able to bring his alleged promises from 2019 to “take care of” and maintain the forests to fruition. “He didn’t do anything,” they both repeated. Gibson even said, “And then I think all our tax dollars probably went to Gavin’s hair gel,” calling the present situation in LA “sad.”

Mel Gibson and Joe Rogan call out California Gov. Gavin Newsom for response to LA wildfires

In the podcast, Mel Gibson and Joe Rogan called out California Gov. Gavin Newsom over the LA wildfires that have already affected thousands of acres. Gibson and Rogan sat down for the latest episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” to discuss Newsom’s responses to multiple bushfires that have destroyed thousands of homes and businesses and killed at least ten people. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the fires have burned more than 29,000 acres after first sparking on Tuesday morning.

First, Rogan discussed the state government’s oversight to prepare for the disastrous wildfires. “They spent $24 billion last year on the homeless, and what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?” he questioned, to which they both responded in unison, “Zero. Zip.” Gibson also pointed out, “In 2019, Newsom said, ‘You know, I’m gonna take care of the forest, maintain the forest, and do all that kind of stuff.’ He didn’t do anything.” To this, the podcast host added, “He didn’t do anything and on top of that, they cut the water off.”

Mel Gibson then discussed Gavin Newson’s failure at dealing with the LA fires, joking, “All our tax dollars probably went to Gavin’s hair gel.” He continued, “I don’t know but like you know it’s sad. The place is just on fire.” Joe Rogan also added, “The whole state is just so poorly managed,” further criticizing the management. “It’s so frustrating and confusing and then he [Newson] gets on TV and pretends like everything’s great,” stated Rogan before mocking the governor for calling California “the best” and blaming the politician for “personally” ruining the state.
