Billy & Janice Crystal’s Nearly 50-Year-Old Palisades Home Reduced To Ashes in LA Fire

Billy and Janice Crystal are mourning the loss of their nearly 50-year-old Palisades home that was reduced to ashes by the Los Angeles fire. The actor confirmed the news in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday as Palisades wildfires continue to wreak havoc in LA County. Although devastated, the star expressed hope that his family as well as the Pacific Palisades community would get through this time. 

Meanwhile, the LA fire continues to cause destruction, causing six wind-driven fires across the county. Like Billy Crystal, many other celebrities have also lost their homes to the raging fires. 

Billy Crystal on LA fire tragedy: ‘Every inch of our house was filled with love’

On Wednesday, Billy Crystal confirmed that he and his wife, Janice Crystal, lost their home due to the Palisades home fire. In an official statement to PEOPLE, the actor revealed that their Pacific Palisades home had completely burned down. According to the outlet, the couple spent a memorable 46 years together in their now-destroyed home. 

Expressing his grief over the loss of their home, Billy said, “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing.” The actor revealed that he and his wife had been living there since 1979 and had also raised their children and grandchildren there. Moreover, Billy empathized with his neighbors and friends who had lost their homes as well. 

Considering they lived in their Palisades home for this long, it was only natural to feel the grief over its loss. Billy further said, “Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.” 

Meanwhile, Billy Crystal isn’t the only one in mourning. Many other celebrities have lost their homes due to the Palisades Fire. These include Paris Hilton, Denise Crosby, Cary Elwes, Eugene Levy, and more. Many have also taken to social media to share the devastation caused by the wildfires. 

The LA fire has claimed the lives of at least five people, with the death toll expected to rise. CNN also reports that the Palisades fire has spread to more than 15,000 acres and burnt over 1,000 structures.
