There are spoilers ahead from last night’s episode of Game of Thrones! You’ve been warned!
Last night’s Game of Thrones featured the return of several characters, the murder of two of the show’s rulers, and the rebirth of a certain bastard that we all saw coming a year ago. That’s right, Jon Snow is back, and so is his half-brother, Bran Stark, both of whom are the focus of HBO’s “Inside the Episode” for Game of Thrones season 6, episode 2.
In the video, Dan Weiss offers his insight into Bran’s big comeback, which has also reintroduced flashbacks to the series in a novel way. Because of Bran’s mental powers, and can go back and see his family when they were happy and catch a glimpse of his father, his aunt, and even Hodor when they were young. The catch is that Bran can “drown” in the past if he stays under too long.

The video also deals with the resurrection of Jon Snow and lays out Ser Davos’ rationale for approaching Melisandre to bring Jon back to life. The short version is that Davos still despises Melisandre and her Lord of Light, but he recognizes that she has displayed true power before. But this time, Melisandre’s faith in herself and her god is at an all time low.
Regardless of Melisandre’s mental state, her resurrection ritual has apparently worked, and we’ll learn more on the next episode of Game of Thrones this Sunday, May 8.
