Let’s get the obvious thing out of the way: of course Kit Harington will be back on Game of Thrones this season. HBO wouldn’t have put him on the posters for season 6 if he wasn’t sticking around for more than a corpse appearance.
There’s no denying that things looked grim for Harington’s character, Jon Snow in the closing minutes of season 5. Getting stabbed to death doesn’t exactly work wonders for your complexion. Game of Thrones fans have all sorts of theories about how Jon Snow will return, but Harington is sticking with a simple refrain: “All I can tell you is Jon Snow is dead.”
Harington made his latest comments on BBC Breakfast, where he was promoting his play Doctor Faustus in London’s West End. Harington added that “[Jon] died at the end of the last season…You’ll have to wait and see. It’s going to be a very exciting season, so I’m led to believe.”
Right, he’s been “led to believe” the season will be exciting…because he’s been spotted on set, in costume several times during the production.

In another interview with Digital Spy earlier this week, Harington intimated that he didn’t spend much time on Game of Thrones this season.
“I haven’t done Thrones in a while,” related Harington. “I had quite a lot of time off last year. I’ve been taking it easy. And relaxing. When I realized I was doing [Doctor Faustus], I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room. ”
It’s entirely possible that Jon Snow’s return won’t occur until late in the sixth season, which may account for Harington’s “time off” from Game of Thrones.
We’ll know more about the fate of Jon Snow when Game of Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday, April 24.
