The star of such iconic television franchises as Baywatch and Knightrider, David Hasselhoff has ‘dropped the hassle’ from his life by changing his name to David Hoff, announcing the change via YouTube. In the video posted earlier today he explains his decision saying:
“I’ve been wanting to drop the Hassel from my life for years,” he said.
“Now it’s official. David Hoff,” as he shows us his certificate of name change.
The actor who is commonly referred to as The Hoff, later took to Twitter to share some of his thoughts on his transition. Describing that it “was a massive relief”, and that it “feels great” he seems very pleased with the decision.
Currently working on a sitcom called Hoff The Record, where he will play a fictionalised version of himself, this isn’t the first time he has hinted that The Hoff might soon eclipse the Hasselhoff
“The Hoff makes more money than Hasselhoff,” Hoff told The Guardian in an interview in June.
“It’s like a tsunami of Hoff! The Hoff just keeps getting bigger!
“So I just go where The Hoff goes. Also it’s SO MUCH MORE FUN.”
