Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank is Now a Real Thing

Alan Partridge warned us that this would happen, and finally it has happened: Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank is now a real thing.

For those not in on the joke, Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank was a TV concept dreamed up by Steve Coogan’s comedy character Alan Partridge back in the ’90s, and it has been something that has haunted Chris Eubank ever since. Despite it having been a joke since the ’90s, the boxer had seemingly never watched the episode of I’m Alan Partridge in which the concept was dreamed up, having recently took to Twitter to ask his followers to explain the link between him and youth hostels.

“I have been seeing this for a very long time yet have never really understood it!” Eubank tweeted, adding: “Can someone explain what all the fuss is about?” Fortunately it now seems that someone has explained what all the fuss is about, and he has now teamed up with Hostelworld to create a trailer for Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank, a show that is probably never going to see the light of day but hey, it’s nice to dream.

Speaking of his involvement in the video, Eubank said: “Up until recently, I had absolutely no idea why people used to mention hostels to me and smile. It was truly an unsolved mystery to me. Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank has now become a reality and finally, albeit a little embarrassed and ashamed, I’m in on the joke 18 years after Alan Partridge pitched it!”

That’s nice and all, but really we’re just happy we get to see Eubank bouncing on a budget bunk bed whilst wearing a monocle. Life doesn’t get much better than this.
