Tom Hardy has two arms to hold you, and 100 bullets to give you, just in case you need them for anything. And don’t worry… they’re untraceable.
Hollywood Reporter announced that Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy has set up shop with New Line Cinema to produce, and possibly star in 100 Bullets, an adaptation of the long-running Vertigo comic book series created by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso. The violent, hard-boiled series lasted 100 issues, and centered around a mysterious man named Agent Graves, who offers seemingly random individuals a gun, 100 untraceable bullets, and proof that one person is responsible for their woes. What would you do?
100 Bullets is the first new Vertigo adaptation announced for New Line Cinema since the announcement in June that Warner Bros. would divide their comic book properties. Warner Bros. plans to keep all of the family-friendly superhero movies under their banner, while the darker stories, many of them based on the adult-oriented Vertigo Comics, would be under New Line.
Tom Hardy’s 100 Bullets will join Sandman, an adaptation of the award-winning fantasy series by Neil Gaiman, on New Line’s roster. Sandman is being produced by Tom Hardy’s Inception and The Dark Knight Rises co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, so presumably they are chumming it up right now and having a grand old time.
