Nicki Minaj’s headline slot at Wireless Festival was delayed by over two hours, with the rapper having to cut her set short due to alleged complications with her flight to London.
Minaj was scheduled to perform between 7 – 8pm, prior to co-headliner David Guetta’s performance at 8.40pm. However, with her still having not shown up at the festival at 9pm, Guetta’s 8.40pm performance was brought forward and he was forced to play the pair’s collab track ‘Turn On Me’ alone.
When Nicki finally took to the stage, bringing Guetta’s set to a close earlier than had been expected, she told the crowd: “Our plane couldn’t get out because of the weather but I want to tell you how much I fucking love y’all. I want to tell you how much I appreciate you guys for showing up from day one.”

However, many fans were still not happy with Minaj’s shortened set, with some being forced to miss her performance entirely due to her late appearance.

The announcement of Nicki’s late arrival was met with a chorus of boos from the Wireless crowd, with the festival displaying an explanation regarding her absence on the large screens dotted around its Finsbury Park location.
Wireless has yet to issue an official response regarding attendees calls for refunds, and with tickets selling for £62.50 a pop, if they are to fork out some cash to those who were left disappointed by Minaj’s late showing then organisers could be left with a pretty hefty bill.
