It’s time to rev up your chainsaws, Evil Dead fans! Ashley J. Williams is back in town, and things are going to get bloody.
Bruce Campbell is reprising his role as Ash from the first two Evil Dead films and Army of Darkness in the new STARZ original series, Ash vs Evil Dead. Reteaming with Campbell on this project are Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, with Craig DiGregorio as the showrunner.
Ash vs Evil Dead picks up thirty years after Army of Darkness as Ash has shirked his responsibilities as the Chosen One. But the Deadites are coming back, and there’s really only one man for the job. Even if he has become “an aging lothario.”
STARZ has released a new teaser trailer for Ash vs Evil Dead, which offers a very brief glimpse of the title character getting ready for action.

This time, Ash will not be alone in his battle against evil. An idealistic immigrant named Pablo Simon (Ray Santiago) will be Ash’s sidekick alongside Kelly Maxwell (Dana DeLorenzo), “a moody wild child trying to outrun her past.” Lucy Lawless co-stars as Ruby, an enigmatic woman who believes that Ash caused the return of the Deadites. Disgraced Michigan State Trooper Amanda Fisher (Jill Marie Jones) also blames Ash for the death of her partner and will do anything to bring him down.
Ash vs Evil Dead is currently in production for a 10 episode first season. STARZ will premiere the series this fall.
