Zachary Quinto Joins Hannibal Season 3

Earlier this year, Zachary Quinto announced that he will not reprise his role as the superpowered serial killer Sylar on NBC’s Heroes Reborn miniseries. But that doesn’t mean that Quinto won’t kill again for the network.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Quinto has signed on to appear in Hannibal Season 3 as patient of Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, the role played by former X-Files star, Gillian Anderson. The early speculation is that Quinto’s character will appear in a flashback as the patient that Bedelia was forced to kill due to Hannibal Lecter’s manipulations.

In addition to his four seasons on Heroes, Quinto is best known for playing Spock in the rebooted Star Trek films. Quinto has also appeared on American Horror Story and The Slap.

Hannibal Season 3 has already lined up an impressive slate of guest stars and recurring performers, including Nina Arianda, Richard Armitage, Rutina Wesley and Joe Anderson. The story is expected to remix elements of Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon and Hannibal novels.

NBC will premiere Hannibal Season 3 this summer.
