‘Saved By The Bell’ Lives Again on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

Twenty two years ago, the final season of the original “Saved By The Bell” aired on NBC. Last night on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” the show was briefly resurrected as a skit depicting host Jimmy Fallon as a student at the fictional Bayside High School.

But the biggest surprise was that almost all of the main “Saved By The Bell” cast members reprised their roles for the skit, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack, Mario Lopez.as Slater, Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen as Kelly and Dennis Haskins as Principal Belding.

Only Dustin Diamond and Lark Voorhies were left out. Although Diamond is currently facing charges that he knifed a man during a bar fight, which may be one of the reasons that he wasn’t included. There’s some other rumors about Diamond’s relationship with the other cast members, but you’ll have to read his book for those.

Despite the two notable absences, the skit is nearly a pitch perfect recreation of “Saved By The Bell.” Most of the cast members are remarkably well preserved after twenty years (with one exception). The gags feature callbacks to classic episodes from the series and even a really funny joke about Berkley’s most questionable career decision.

The entire eight minute segment has been posted to Youtube. Check it out and share your thoughts about the “Saved By The Bell” reunion in the comment section below!
