Tame Impala Releasing Third Album In 2015

Tame Impala are finally nearing the release of a follow-up to 2012’s Lonerism.

The Perth psych rock outfit will drop a studio album sometime in 2015 according to an email sent from the band’s record label, Spinning Top Music, as well as produce new records from Tame Impala offshoots Pond and The Growl.

“Now, 2015 is going to be one helluva year,” the Reddit-revealed email reads. “And I know this because I’m privvy to some information about some truly amazing things happening that I think you’ll all love as much as we will. There will be new albums from POND, Tame Impala, The Growl, Gunns, and Fascinator as well as tours and shows aplenty from everyone across the Spinning Top roster!”

Collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and The Flaming Lips, a Michael Jackson cover and a couple of live EPs are all we’ve seen of Tame Impala since Lonerism, however frontman Kevin Parker has previously said the material will make the 2012 hit album “look like amateur hour”. Drummer Jay Watson also told FasterLouder that the new album is “probably gonna be less rock again and more electronic again, even more than the last one.”

Most recently, Parker provided Grammy Award-winning producer Mark Ronson with vocals for tracks on Ronson’s upcoming album Uptown Special. Check out the pair on ‘Daffodils’ below.
