The F-Type Jaguar won multiple “Car of the Year” awards when it originally debuted. We’ll see if her 2016 sister fares as well.
Combining class, luxury, speed and a ridiculous exhaust note in a sub-$100 K package, the F-Type was an instant classic and a worthy successor to the E-Type Jag up on the car version of Mount Rushmore.
Jaguar kept the F-Type momentum speeding along this past year with the successful “villain” campaign that debuted during the Super Bowl – continuing the very British ad assault in the following months.

Jaguar chose this year’s LA Auto Show to show the world 2016’s F-Type. It features a few styling flourishes here and there, but it remains much the same car externally as the version that blew the automotive world away even before British bad guys made it famous.
The big news for the 2016 version is the additional of a proper manual transmission. You will soon be able to drive an F-Type Jag with a stick. For that, I want to kiss someone at Jaguar. Preferably a woman. But, since every true lover of driving longs for more manual gear boxes in cars as they slowly fade away, the fact that Jaguar is introducing one to an already great driver’s car means I might not restrict my physical affection for just the ladies on this one occasion.
Pucker up, Jag.
