Marvel Studios has a tendency to put out films that look good, sound good, and flow well. Whether they actually have to try hard or not to achieve those things at this point, I don’t know. Honestly, it feels like five quality films fly out every time a Marvel producer sneezes.
This particular movie that Marvel is flinging our way nonchalantly, Avengers: Age of Ultron, is going to raise the bar for visuals that they’ve set for themselves; the number of VFX shots is rising significantly.
While two previous Marvel films featured roughly 2,500 VFX shots, Avengers: Age of Ultron will wow you with close to 3,000. I don’t know about you, but that excites me, as I’m a big effects guy (as long as they are tasteful and well done in the right context).
