Every now and then, someone does something that shocks everyone. A seemingly nice, innocent, quiet individual snaps and then inner demons lash out, or worse, take a life.
A boy from Britain in his early teens was diagnosed with autism early on in his life. He also happened to love the show Dexter. The show is about a man who is a blood spatter analyst but moonlights as a serial killer who imparts his idea of justice on the people that he considers bad. Simply put, he kills them, dismembers them, wraps them in plastic, then dumps their parts in the water. This young British boy did the same to a young lady friend of his. In a style not dissimilar to Dexter, he killed the girl, dismembered her with some tools from the family tree maintenance business, and wrapped her bits in plastic.
Fortunately, it didn’t go much further than that, as he quickly confessed to the murder and dismemberment to his sister after she arrived at the house some time later (saying that “Ed”, his alter-ego, told him to do it). He was convicted and sentenced to twenty five years in prison, despite the defense attorney attempting to point the finger at shows and other media like the gruesome show Dexter.
